Hey folks, VS Dave here!

Can you believe it’s already been one full trip around the sun since your Alpha’s quest to become Almighty began? We had to doublecheck our calendar to verify, but sure enough, it’s officially May!

To celebrate Almighty’s first birthday, we asked Creative Director Darran Thomas to look back on the past twelve months and reflect upon RUNWILD’s experience so far. Not just in releasing the game into Early Access, but also maintaining it, improving it, and ultimately getting it ready for the upcoming 1.0 release!

Almighty: Kill Your Gods

An Anniversary Retrospective

Wow, it’s been a full year since we launched Almighty: Kill Your Gods into Early Access! Time really has flown, and the team is just as busy as ever as we continue building a version 1.0 that incorporates a feature set and quality level we’ve been working toward.

Putting on our 20/20 hindsight goggles, things could have gone a lot smoother at Early Access launch. Having said that, the feedback we’ve received from players has been incredibly valuable. Even the ‘not so complementary ones’ have glints of useful information that are helpful as we look to address issues and flesh out the game.

We were incredibly encouraged by players who understood the game and what we are trying to do and were constructive with their feedback.

As we look back over the last year, we’re excited about how much the game has taken shape and the experience that is awaiting you. Here are a few highlights from the past twelve months:

  • The Hollows – The Elder Gods’ corruption runs deep within the realm of Anun, and that includes underground. Hidden from plain sight, these additional areas provide more opportunities for exploration, looting, and rescuing Kindred. Come prepared though, Alphas, because you will also find a greater challenge here.
  • New Buildings – The Home Island has received an overhaul, adding new locations such as the Academy, and the Brewery. Each of these locations provides Alphas with Work Orders to complete which will enhance your experience. For example, the Academy grants you the ability to update Kindred behaviors, like giving them magic to defend the Home Island in your absence. You’ll definitely want to spend some time here!
  • New Island Overview Stall – The Home Island has its own economy, and this updated feature now allows you to conveniently collect all your bonus items and gold in one place. We’ve also improved its presentation, making it a bit easier to understand how everything works.

Making Almighty has been an unforgettable experience, especially thanks to you all. We’re really excited about our upcoming 1.0 release and creating the experience that we originally envisioned. It’s a bit too soon to get into specifics, but you’ll be hearing more about what we’ve got planned in the near future.

In closing, we’d like to thank everyone who has purchased the game and supported us in our efforts, and to everyone who has taken the time to provide us with feedback. We appreciate it more than you know.

Cheers, Almighty. Happy first birthday!

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
